The pattern repeats because these projects spend pre-order money on marketing instead of engineering. They lock customers into proprietary pods and cloud-dependent apps. When the company dies, the product dies with it.

Every dollar goes directly toward building and shipping test kits to real growers, covering materials and engineering costs, and iterating on feedback. We'll share transparent updates on how funds are used.
Once we've built, tested, and iterated with real growers, we'll launch a full Kickstarter campaign with a proven product. We're targeting later this year, but we won't rush it — that's the whole point.
Nothing is wasted. We've built an open-source community — every design file, every line of firmware, every piece of documentation is public under CERN-OHL-P-2.0 and MIT licenses. Anyone can stand on our shoulders and carry the project forward, whether it's the app, the hardware design, or the build docs. It's all documented and ready for the next iteration.
